The Women’s practice

The Women's Practice was built for women, by women, with experience, not just qualifications.

It's a non-judgmental, safe space, built around you as a whole person. We don't just look at what brought you here. We look at everything, your strength, your story and your spirit.

If you're sitting somewhere right now wondering whether to reach out , just send us an email. We'll hold space for you. Sometimes the roads lead us to places we never expected. It's how we navigate that matters most.

We welcome self-referrals as well as referrals from women's organisations, allied health professionals, GP clinics, and NDIS providers. We also accept Victims of Crime referrals Australia-wide and private health fund rebate, please check with your provider for eligibility. If you are on the Gold Coast or in Brisbane, face-to-face appointments are available by request.

We offer telehealth and video counselling sessions wherever you are Australia wide. Email support is also available for those who need a gentler first step.

We are a holistic, strengths-based practice informed by lived experience. We believe that no matter what has happened, you are still the author of your story. The next chapter has not been written yet, and we are here to help you write it on your own terms.

We specialise in working with women who have experienced domestic and family violence, complex trauma and PTSD, coercive control, grief and loss, and identity disruption, women navigating the justice system and court-related matters, Victims of Crime, post-crisis recovery, reintegration, disability and acquired brain injury, First Nations women, and women managing mental health and wellbeing challenges.

Please note that we are not a crisis service If you are in immediate danger, please call 000.

The Woman Behind the Practice

I am a qualified counsellor, ACA Level 4 member, Clinical Supervisor, and registered Victims of Crime Counsellor.I founded Neuro Vitality Pty Ltd and created the Growth-Focused Trauma Model, a framework built from experience in frontline clinical practice across crisis counselling, domestic and family violence, complex trauma, homelessness, youth justice, and international work inside women's prisons in the South East Asia.

In my sessions I draw on a range of evidence-based modalities including narrative therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, somatic awareness, mindfulness-based approaches, and solution-focused practice, always guided by what you need.

My why is simple. I have lived the experiences I now use to inform my practice. I know what it is to need support and not find it. I built The Women's Practice because I wanted to create the thing I couldn't find when I needed it most, a space where women are met with genuine understanding.

When I am not in session you will find me being completely outnumbered by my four fur babies, three French Bulldogs and a Chihuahua who collectively believe they run the household. They are probably right.

I am a Kamilaroi and Wiradjuri woman of Adyghe and African American descent, a published author, researcher, and a speaker. But first and alway, I am someone who has been where you are, I am looking forward to walking along side you and hearing your story.

You’ve got this Sista.

A Word from Davina

Kia ora,

I'm Davina, and I'll be the first person you hear from at The Women's Practice.

I came to Australia from Aotearoa New Zealand ten years ago and have made this country my home. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and am currently completing a dual diploma in Community Services and Counselling.

Supporting women is not just a career path for me. It is my life’s work and calling.

I have lived experience of domestic violence, the suicide of a partner, and childhood sexual abuse. I also happen to be the proud mother of triplets, which has taught me more about resilience, chaos, and love than any qualification ever could.

I am down to earth, I have a wicked sense of humour, and I bring a holistic and spiritual approach to everything I do. I believe in the whole person body, mind, and spirit, and I know from my own life that healing is not linear, and not one-size-fits-all.

The road that brought you here is one I know well, I came through the other side of this. And I will walk alongside you as you find yours.

Kia kaha, stay strong.
